Bellator was back in town (in Uncasville, CT) on Friday night for Bellator 244, their third card since a return to action last month. The “FightSphere” had seen Sergio Pettis and Michael Chandler pick up key wins, and now it was time for Ryan Bader and Vadim Nemkov to throw down — with Bader’s light heavyweight title on the line.
Earlier in the night, the Bellator 244 preliminary card was looking pretty stacked, anchored by a catchweight fight between welterweights Yaroslav Amosov and Mark Lemminger. At 23-0, and having headlined a Bellator event already, Amosov’s placement on the prelims was a head-scratcher, but all the more reason to tune in. In Lemminger, he had a game opponent who did have the potential to pull off the upset as the underdog.
Also in early action, “Gentleman” Josh Hill was back, looking for his second win under the Bellator banner. The Canadian had drawn former UFC standout Erik Perez at Bellator 244, in what had the makings of a very explosive fight.
Tune in come fight time (7:15PM ET) for full results. The official live stream of the action can be found above.
