KSW 54 is set to take place in Warsaw, Poland later this month — with Mateusz Gamrot and Shamil Musaev battling for the promotion’s lightweight title in the main event.
The Polish promotion, which has become a strong player in parts of Europe, confirmed the news Monday in a press release, following a prior announcement on social media. The fight is something of a quick turnaround for Gamrot (16-0, 1NC), who defeated Norman Parke in the grudge-match main event of KSW 53 in July.
The KSW 54 main event is also a battle of undefeated fighters, as champ Gamrot will put both his title and perfect record on the line against Musaev, who is himself 14-0.
In addition to Parke, Gamrot has key wins over Mansour Barnaoui (winner of ROAD FC’s $1 Million Dollar tournament) and Kleber Koike Erbst. Musaev, who has previously competed for M-1 and Fight Nights Global, has finished nine of his professional bouts.
In fact, as KSW’s press release Monday pointed out, the main event pair hold a 30-0 combined record and have 13 TKO / KO’s, 6 submissions, & 11 decision wins between them. Which should make for an exciting contest come Fight Night.
KSW 54 will take place August 29 in Warsaw, Poland with the event streaming live via KSWTV.com. The remainder of the card is yet to be officially announced.
