Who doesn’t love heavyweight bouts? If you say no, you are lying to yourself. A fight between Bellator fan favorites sees former title challenger Matt Mitrione step in to face Tim Johnson. Johnson is coming off a massive victory to keep him out of the “journeyman” category for the foreseeable future. A win over formerly undefeated Tyrell Fortune, in knockout fashion, had the massive underdog set for another big match-up, and he got just that in Mitrione.
Matt Mitrione has not had his hand raised since February of 2018. Which in MMA terms can feel like a lifetime. Still, at 42 years young, Mitrione says he has never felt better, and his confidence is far from shaken. A win for either of these men could put them on the shortlist for a big contender in the division moving forward.
