Paul Craig picked up a beautiful submission victory over Gadzhimurad Antigulov on the UFC Fight Island main card from Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
Scotland’s Paul Craig returned Saturday night at UFC Fight Island 3. Coincidentally enough, Craig’s return came on the very same card as the return of his last opponent, Shogun Rua. The pair had fought to a draw in November of last year, a result some saw as a disservice to the legendary Shogun. Craig, for his part, would no doubt be looking for a more definitive result on Saturday against the dangerous Gadzhimurad Antigulov, who was looking to snap a two-fight skid after starting his UFC run with back-to-back victories.
Craig pressed forward early with a 1-2 that did not connect. Antigulov landed a nice shot and got in on a nice takedown, which he completed. Craig attempted a guillotine choke but Antigulov escaped out from it. Off his back, Craig sunk a triangle attempt in, but Antigulov was still raining down shots from a postured position. The submission was in deep however and Antigulov soon had no choice but to tap out.

The win ties Craig with several other light heavyweights for the most submission finishes in the UFC light heavyweight division. He’s also the only man at 205lbs to win with a triangle three times.
