Welcome back, Bellator. After watching from the sidelines over the past couple of months, the promotion, on an extended hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, is back in action this Friday with Bellator 242.
They’re heading to familiar territory at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. Of course, no fans will be in the building, as the U.S. continues to be ravaged by the virus. However, under strict health and safety protocols, a four-fight main card will go down, topped by former UFC flyweight Sergio Pettis taking on Ricky Bandejas at bantamweight.
It’s a fight that has all the makings of a title eliminator, although nothing has been officially announced. However Pettis debuted earlier this year, choking out Alfred Khashakyan back in January. Given his profile and what would be three straight wins, he’d certainly have the resume to fight for the title, which is currently vacant.
Weigh-ins for the event went down Thursday morning, with Cageside Press in attendance. Check for results below!
