A pair of top talents from Invicta FC will face off on this weekend’s UFC on ESPN 12. Kay Hansen, who started in the promotion as a teenager and who is still just twenty years old, will face former atomweight champ Jinh Yu Frey at the event.
MMA Junkie was first to report the booking, with both Hansen and Frey announcing the news on social media.
Hansen (6-3) has fought all but one of her professional fights under the Invicta FC banner, starting back in 2017. That followed her lone amateur fight earlier in the year. Hansen has finished five of her six professional wins, and has also dabbled in boxing. Although she has fought at flyweight, Hansen is primarily a strawweight.
Frey (9-4) is a former Invicta FC atomweight champ, as well as having fought for both the ROAD FC and RIZIN FF atomweight titles. With no 105lb division in the UFC, she’ll be making the moving up to strawweight in her octagon debut.
Today I got the call every fighter dreams of. Earlier this afternoon, I signed a multi-fight contract with the @ufc

UFC on ESPN 12 takes place Saturday, June 27 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show is expected to be headlined by Dan Hooker vs. Dustin Poirier in a key lightweight battle. Frey and Hansen join fellow Invicta FC alum Miranda Maverick, who is also making her UFC debut on the card.
