Per a new report, featherweights Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige will be headlining the first UFC Fight Night on Fight Island on July 15.
According to Brett Okamoto of ESPN, a featherweight clash between Dan Ige and Calvin Kattar will headline the first Fight Night to be held on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on July 15. Both men are coming off impressive victories last month in Jacksonville and another victory will move them closer to title contention.

“The Boston Finisher” Calvin Kattar (21-4) has been with the UFC since 2017 and already has victories over established veterans such as Andre Fili and former title challenger Ricardo Lamas. He earned his first main event in the promotion last year where he came up short against Russian phenom Zabit Magomedsharipov but bounced back this year with an emphatic finish of veteran knockout artist Jeremy Stephens last month at the UFC’s triumphant return.
“Dynamite” Dan Ige (14-2) has slowly made his way up the ranks after making it to the UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2017. After dropping his first fight in the Octagon, Ige went on a six fight win-streak that currently has him ranked 11th in the division. A week after Kattar’s victory in Jacksonville, Ige notched the biggest victory of his career in the same venue with a split-decision victory over perennial contender Edson Barboza.
The event on July 15 will be the second event held on well-publicized “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi. The first event will be UFC 251 on July 11 and will air on pay-per-view while the Fight Night on July 15 is expected to air on television on ESPN.
