Canada’s Kyle Nelson will be looking for his second win inside the octagon later this month. On Friday, the UFC announced on social media that Nelson would be facing Sean Woodson on June 27. The catchweight fight — Nelson normally fights at featherweight, but made his promotional debut at lightweight — is part of the UFC Vegas 4 card.

That will actually be the fifth straight event hosted at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, counting UFC 250.
Nelson (13-3) picked up his first win in the organization last time out against Marco Polo Reyes, scoring a TKO victory at UFC Mexico City back in September. “The Monster” would have been a smart addition to UFC Saskatoon this month, but with that card among the many cancelled/postponed due to the coronavirus, it’s Las Vegas or bust for the Canadian.
Opponent Sean Woodson (7-0) entered the UFC off the Contender Series last year, and is trying to earn his second straight win inside the octagon. That’s after a unanimous decision victory over Kyle Bochniak at UFC Boston last October.
The UFC’s June 27 card is expected to be headlined by former lightweight champion Dustin Poirier vs. Dan Hooker, a fight that was confirmed by the UFC on Friday as well.
