The UFC’s June 20 card will have some women’s strawweight action on board. Following early reports, Brianna Van Buren confirmed that she will fight Tecia Torres on that date.
No event name or location has officially been announced for the show. However, the UFC has been transparent about its hopes to return to Las Vegas, and utilize the UFC Apex for upcoming events. That hinges on the outcome of a May 27 meeting of the Nevada State Atheltic Commission.
I’m fighting Tecia Torres June 20 🎉

Torres (10-5), a.k.a. the “Tiny Tornado,” was at one point considered a possible contender in the 115lb division. However, she has now lost four straight fights, and very much has her back to the wall. In her last outing, Torres was bested by Marina Rodriguez. Prior to that, she suffered defeats at the hands of Weili Zhang, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and Jessica Andrade. All three of whom, it’s worth noting, have been or are UFC strawweight champions. In all four bouts, Torres went the distance.
Still, she has not had her hand raised since a 2017 meeting with Michelle Waterson.
Van Buren (7-2) won her octagon debut last July, against Lívia Renata Souza. A former Invicta FC strawweight champ and tournament winner, Van Buren was expected to return in December against Hannah Cifers. However, she was forced to withdraw from the bout.
