A very different sort of Fight Week unfolded in Jacksonville, Florida ahead of UFC 249. A lack of media. A lack of fans. A quieter hotel, from all accounts.
And on Friday morning, an official weigh-in. There would be ceremonial weigh-in, as measures taken to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus included keeping fighters separate until they were locked in the octagon across from one another.
Just fighters hitting the scales, looking to make weight. Many on short notice.
Early on in the morning, Jeremy Stephens missed the featherweight limit by 4.5lbs. That marked his first miss since 2015. “Lil Heathen” was the only fighter to miss the mark, with Ryan Spann being the final fighter to clock in.
Check back on Friday morning for results for the full card.
