Andrei Arlovski and Ed Herman are among the most recent names added to the UFC Oklahoma City card.
A pair of bouts with the potential for some heavy hitting have been added to UFC Oklahoma City. Per a report in The Oklahoman, a light heavyweight tilt between Ed Herman and Da Un Jung has been added to the Fight Night card. Joining that pairing will be a heavyweight scrap featuring ex-champ Andrei Arlovski and former PFL standout Philipe Lins.
Arlovski (28–19, 2NC) last fought in November, when he was knocked out by Jairzinho Rozenstruik in just 29 seconds at UFC 244. Prior to that, ‘The Pitbull’ had earned a unanimous decision win against Ben Rothwell — which marked Arlovski’s first victory in five fights. In fact, were it not for a positive drug test from Walt Harris, Arlovski would be 1-5 in his last six fights.
Philipe Lins (14-3) may be the richest debuting UFC fighter in recent memory. The Brazilian won the million dollar heavyweight tournament in the inaugural season of the Professional Fighters League. He was expected to defend his championship last season, but was forced to withdraw due to injury. As a result, Lins has not fought since 2018 — when he defeated Alex Nicholson, Caio Alencar, Jared Rosholt, and Josh Copeland to win it all in the PFL. All four fights ended in stoppages, three TKOs and a submission.
In light heavyweight action, veteran Ed Herman (25–14, 1NC) is back, looking to build on a two-fight win streak. He faces Da Un Jung, who has won both his UFC bouts to date, against Khadis Ibragimov and Mike Rodriguez.
UFC Oklahoma City is expected to be headlined by a middleweight bout featuring Chris Weidman and Jack Hermansson. The card takes place May 2 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
