Bantamweights Jonathan Martinez and Andre Ewell are the latest addition to UFC 247.
UFC 247 goes down next month, and on Monday, the card added yet another piece to its puzzle. As first reported by BJ Penn.com’s Mike Heck Jr., Andre Ewell will face off with Jonathan Martinez at the event. The bantamweight bout is expected to feature on the early preliminary card.
Martinez (11-2) will enter the bout on a two-fight win streak inside the octagon. The Painview, Texas native made his promotional debut in 2018 against Andre Soukhamthath, losing that bout by unanimous decision. He’d go on to win his next two fights, however, picking up wins over Wuliji Buren and Liu Pingyuan.
Ewell (15-6), meanwhile, enters the fight off a loss to Marlon Vera at at October’s UFC Tampa. Overall, ‘Mr. Highlight’ is 2-2 in the organization.
UFC 247 takes place February 8, 2020 at the Toyta Center in Houston, Texas. Light heavyweight gold is on the line in the main event as Jon Jones defends his title against Dominick Reyes. The card as it currently stands is as follows:
