It seems like based on some recent comments, Masvidal is more so looking towards a fight with Conor McGregor than immediately gunning for a fight with Usman. The Nigerian Nightmare also doesn’t seem particularly fired up about the match up with Gamebred either. Even going so far as to feign like he didn’t know who Jorge Masvidal was in his post-fight press conference following his Colby Covington victory. Masvidal did not take kindly to Usman’s comments.

The oft-repeated call of “Who?” from Usman in regards to Masvidal very much seemed to irritate the BMF champion. Jorge Masvidal referred to Usman as Owlman in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani; poking fun at Usman’s frequent use of the word “Who?”
A myriad of potential next opponents could await both individuals. For Jorge Masvidal, there’s the aforementioned McGregor fight that he clearly wants. Obviously this is predicated on the Irishman getting by Donald Cerrone at UFC 246, but it seems like a likely option. Masvidal has also shown interest in more lofty goals like Canelo and GSP fights.
Leon Edwards could also be a potential opponent for either man at this point. For Masvidal, it would be on a personal feud type level because of the three-piece and soda situation with the two. For Usman, it would be due to the streak Edwards has been on and would function on a competitive meritocracy level.
