An Eastern European battle will invade UFC Norfolk next month, as Marcin Tybura has been booked opposite Sergey Spivak.

The UFC’s next trip to Virginia has added a pair of European heavyweights. Following an announcement by Marcin Tybura that he’d be competing on the UFC Norfolk card, the UFC’s official website has revealed that the Polish fighter will take on Ukraine’s Sergey Spivak at the event.

Tybura (17-6) revealed his return date a few days back, but did not confirm his opponent.

The former M-1 Grand Prix winner and heavyweight champion has hit hard times of late. Tybura is just 1-4 across his last five fights, most recently suffering defeat at the hands of Augusto Sakai at UFC Vancouver in September. Additional losses have piled up against Derrick Lewis, Shamil Abdurakhimov, and Fabricio Werdum. His lone win in that stretch came against Stefan Struve via a 2018 decision.

Sergey Spivak (10-1) has split a pair of fights in the octagon thus far. After falling to Walt Harris at UFC Ottawa, Spival picked up his first win in the promotion at UFC 243 — defeating prospect Tai Tuivasa with a second-round arm-triangle choke.

UFC Norfolk (anticipated to be UFC Fight Night 169) takes place February 29, 2020 at the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The event is expected to be headlined by a flyweight title fight between Joseph Benavidez and Deiveson Figueiredo, with Henry Cejudo having vacated the title.
