The full UFC on ESPN 7 (UFC DC) card faced off Friday morning ahead of Saturday’s big event.
Washington, D.C. — With weigh-ins official for UFC on ESPN 7, one last little bit of promotional fanfare was left. Friday morning, all fighters squared off for the final face-off ahead of Saturday night’s event at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
The UFC’s first trip to the U.S. capital since 2011 brings a heavyweight main event with it. Alistair Overeem, whose career has spanned over two decades, will face the dangerous Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the main event. Rozenstruik will look to replicate the success of Francis Ngannou roughly two years ago. ‘Bigi Boy,’ like Ngannou, is a powerful knockout artist, with eight of his nine wins in mixed martial arts coming via KO/TKO.
In the co-main event, meanwhile, Cynthia Calvillo will face Marina Rodriguez. Despite Brazil’s Rodriguez jumping into the bout as a replacement for Claudia Gadelha, however, it was Calvillo missing weight Friday. And badly. She came in at 120.5lbs for the strawweight fight, a full 4.5lbs over the non-title fight limit.
