Patrick Mix dominated and dazzled en route to his twelfth straight victory — this time, a suloev stretch submission of Isiah Champman at Bellator 232.
Bantamweight prospect Patrick Mix was back in action at Bellator 232. Taking on Isiah Chapman on the main card of the event in Uncasville, Connecticut, Mix was looking to make it twelve straight wins, and stay undefeated in the process.
Opponent Isiah Chapman was hoping to play spoiler, and ruin Mix’s perfect record.

It wasn’t going to be easy for Chapman. Mix had the fight down within the first fifteen seconds. He immediately took control of Chapman’s back, getting both hooks in. Switching to a body triangle, he threw short punches, while Chapman tried to power back up. Mix’s body weight made that nearly impossible, however. Instead, Chapman remained on all fours. Chapman fought off the rear-naked choke, but struggled to both escape, and defend the occasional punch from Mix. Then, still keeping Chapman locked up on the ground, Mix locked in a Suloev stretch. Wrenching the leg, putting pressure on the thigh, Mix forced Chapman to tap!
While it was announced as a kneebar, it was a Suloev stretch, and Mix made sure to correct the announcement in his post-fight interview.
Official Result: Patrick Mix def. Isiah Chapman by submission (Suloev stretch), Round 1, 3:49
