Maycee Barber continued to live up to the hype at UFC Boston, stopping the dangerous Gillian Robertson in the first round.
Maycee Barber comes into UFC Boston as one of the most promising female fighters around. “The Future” has stoppages in six of her seven victories. She won by third-round TKO on the Contender Series and has since knocked out her two UFC opponents to stay undefeated.
Gillian Robertson is also a stoppage machine. She lost in her only fight on The Ultimate Fighter, but rebounded with a pair of submissions in the UFC, including one against Molly McCann. Her run was stopped by Mayra Silva, but she’s bounced back with two more stoppage, knocking out Sarah Frota from the mount in her last appearance.
Maycee Barber got going with one-two combinations early on, moving forward with confidence. A solid knee landed for Robertson to the head of Barber, whose pressure was constant. Robertson fell back for a single leg takedown and pushed Barber to the cage. Barber reversed position and landed a huge shot. Once she saw her opponent was hurt, Barber did not stop throwing hooks. She walked down Robertson around the cage and forced the ref to stop the fight on the feet due to her constant punishment. Another win for the very promising flyweight.

As expected, after her victory, Barber called out Paige VanZant. She also revealed that her current record of 8-0 was already written on her gloves.
