A can’t-miss featherweight clash has been added to UFC Busan, as Canada’s Charles Jourdain heads to South Korea to take on the returning Doo-Ho Choi!
Canada’s Charles Jourdain will be heading overseas for his next fight — at UFC Busan. There, he’ll meet ‘The Korean Superboy’ Doo-Ho Choi, who returns to action for the first time since January 2018.
UFC officials announced the booking on social media. The pairing immediately got the attention of MMA fans everywhere, given Choi’s ability to put on outstanding fights, win or lose.

Jourdain (9-2) entered the UFC following a run in TKO that saw him win titles in two weight classes. Taking a short-notice lightweight fight against Des Green in his debut, he put on a gutsy but ultimately losing effort at UFC Rochester back in May.
Now, ‘Air’ Jourdain will drop back down to featherweight to meet South Korea’s Choi, who remains one of the top prospects in the 145lb weight class despite some recent defeats.
Choi (14-3) has suffered back-to-back losses, to Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens. It’s worth noting, however, that those losses came in Fight of the Year and Fight of the Night performances, respectively. Prior to those setbacks, Choi had won his first three UFC contests.
The South Korean has been absent from the UFC of late, due to mandatory military service back home. But the promotion’s trip to Busan allows him to get back in the octagon, against a fellow prospect in Jourdain. Good news for all involved.
UFC Busan (UFC Fight Night 165 / UFC on ESPN+ 23) takes place December 21, 2019 at the Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea.
