Joanna Jedrzejczyk would be under the microscope at Friday’s weigh-in ahead of UFC Tampa.
UFC Tampa goes down on Saturday, but ahead of the fight night event, there was a big fight scheduled to take place at the weigh-in. That would be Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and her battle to make the strawweight limit. News broke earlier in the week that she had requested a catchweight, but opponent Michelle Waterson apparently wasn’t budging.
The former champ downplayed the issue during fight week, noting she had a few more days to make the 116lb non-title fight limit. But time would tell.
With Waterson herself weighing in early, her side of things was done. A short time later, the former Joanna Champion proved all the fuss was for nothing, clocking in at 115.5lbs.
