Genah Fabian is out, and Bobbi-Jo Dalziel is in against Kayla Harrison at PFL 7 2019, a last-minute opponent change for the semi-final fight.

Some drama ahead of PFL 7 2019: Thursday, news broke that Kayla Harrison (5-0) would be getting a new opponent for her women’s lightweight semi-final fight. That’s due to opponent Genah Fabian (2-1) having weight struggles. First reported by MMA Fighting, it appears Fabian has been replaced by Bobbi-Jo Dalziel (5-1), who was part of the lightweight field earlier in the season.

Canadian Dalziel actually defeated Fabian in the PFL regular season. However, she fell to Larissa Pacheco, and missed the playoffs. Pacheco, meanwhile, moved on in the tournament, and will fight former Strikeforce and Invicta FC champion Sarah Kaufman Friday night in Las Vegas, as part of PFL 7 2019.

Dalziel holds notable wins over Brittney Elkin and Jozette Cotton outside of the PFL, which introduced the women’s 155lb division this year.

Harrison, a former two-time Olympic gold medalist who trained coming up with Ronda Rousey, recently signed a contract extension with the Professional Fighters League. Her and Kaufman have long been seen as favorites to make it to this year’s finale, with $1 million USD on the line for the winner.

PFL 7 2019 airs on ESPN2 and ESPN+ (TSN in Canada) Friday, October 11, live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV.
