Returning from a two-year suspension, Amanda Lemos is expected to face Veronica Macedo at UFC Busan later this year.
Amanda Lemos is set to return to the octagon later this year. Per a report by Brazil’s Combate, Lemos, who was last in action in 2017, will face Veronica Macedo at UFC Busan. The South Korean card takes place in December, headlined by The Korean Zombie and Brian Ortega.
Lemos (6-1-1) suffered the first defeat of his career against Leslie Smith at UFC Fight Night 113 in Glasgow, Scotland in her last bout. That fight was her first in the UFC, and her last to date. Months later, she was flagged by USADA for an anti-doping violation. She later accepted a two-year suspension.
UFC Busan will mark Lemos’ first fight back. She’ll face Veronica Macedo (6-3-1), a 23-year old Venezuelan coming off her first win in the promotion. That came against Polyana Viana at UFC Uruguay in August. Prior to that, she had lost three straight under the UFC banner, with defeats to top flyweights Gillian Robertson and Andrea Lee among them.
UFC Busan (UFC Fight Night 165 / UFC on ESPN+ 23) takes place December 21, 2019 at the Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea. The show marks the UFC’s first South Korean stop outside of Seoul, and is the final card of the promotion’s 2019 calendar year.
