Julia Avila will head to Asia to take on Karol Rosa at UFC Singapore next month.
A women’s bantamweight showdown has been added to the upcoming UFC Singapore. On Tuesday, UFC officials announced that Julia Avila and Karol Rosa would face off on the card. Both fighters are still early in their UFC tenure, making this something of a prospect vs. prospect fight.

Avila (7-1), an Invicta FC veteran, won her promotional debut at UFC 239 with a unanimous decision over Pannie Kianzad. Kianzad, a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter as well as Invicta, was an excellent first test for the ‘Raging Panda,’ who works as a geologist when not competing in the UFC.
The 31-year old also holds a win over UFC alum Alexa Conners in Invicta FC last year.
Karol Rosa (12-3) also won her UFC debut, a split decision victory over Lara Procópio late last month at UFC Shenzhen. She’ll be getting a relatively quick turnaround here. However, she enters the fight on a three fight winning streak, and will be in her fourth fight this calendar year. Clearly, the workload has yet to become an issue.
UFC Singapore (UFC Fight Night 162 / UFC on ESPN+ 20) takes place October 26, 2019 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Ben Askren faces Demian Maia in the main event.
