Michael Pereira, Jordan Griffin, and of course Cowboy Cerrone put on a show at the UFC Vancouver ceremonial weigh-in.
Vancouver, BC — And there you have it. UFC Vancouver is official, the promotion is finished, and all that is left is… well, chaos.
No, Colby Covington’s not about to show up. We hope. But there’s no better way to describe the UFC Vancouver main event between Cowboy Cerrone and Justin Gaethje than chaos. Planned chaos. Purposeful. Precise. Chaos nonetheless. What else could it be?
Friday afternoon at the Rogers Arena beneath an overcast Vancouver sky, all twenty-four fighters hit the stage for one last promotional push ahead of the big night. Gaethje and Cerrone were there, the former saying there would be no friend across from Cowboy Saturday night when the cage door shut.
Well, that goes without saying, really. Cerrone, for his part, seemed in great spirits. As did most of the card. More than a few pairs, set to batter each other in just over twenty-four hours, were joking, buddy-buddy, at the ceremonial weigh-ins. Including Michel Pereira, who missed weight for his fight with short-notice opponent Tristan Connelly, but entertained the crowd with a standing back-flip and kip-ups.
