Austin Arnett will be fighting a fellow former UFC featherweight in his next bout, challenging Rolando Dy for his UAE Warriors 145-pound title in Abu Dhabi this October.
In his first bout since his release from the UFC, Austin Arnett is getting a title-shot. That shot comes against another former UFC featherweight in Rolando Dy, at a yet to be announced UAE Warriors event on October 19th in Abu Dhabi, UAE, sources confirmed to Cageside Press. Dy captured the then-vacant UAE Warriors featherweight title in May, and is 3-0 since his release from the UFC in 2018.
The match-up will be Arnett’s first bout since his unanimous decision loss to Shane Young at UFC 234. Arnett signed with the UFC shortly after his impressive performance, albeit in a loss, on the Dana White Contender Series in August of 2017.
In his four fights in the promotion, Arnett went 1-3, with a victory over Humberto Bandenay in November of last year. In his time with the UFC, Dy also went 1-3, with his most recent loss also coming to Shane Young.
Throughout his time in the UFC, Arnett fought in Charlotte, Calgary, Buenos Aires, and Melbourne. Now, he’ll get to add Abu Dhabi to his list of international fight locales. Fans in the states will likely be able to purchase the event on Fite.TV, where the most recent event (UAE Warriors 7), was available for $9.99 USD, and is still available to watch on replay.
