Two bantamweights of the future will face off at UFC DC as Cody Stamann fights Song Yadong in the nation’s capital.
Gene Wang of the Washington Post first reported the bantamweight addition to UFC DC.
With a combined record of 8-1 in the UFC, Cody Stamann and Song Yadong look like something special. Both men are already ranked early on in their Octagon careers, with Stamann coming in at 10th and Yadong landing at 13th.
Cody Stamann won decisions in his first three UFC appearances, including split decision wins over Tom Duquesnoy and Bryan Caraway (that definitely should be unanimous). His rise was halted by top contender Aljamain Sterling, losing by a rare Suloev stretch. The 29-year-old bounced back with a win over Alejandro Perez.
Like Stamann, Song Yadong is also coming off a win over Alejandro Perez. However, he finished Perez with a brutal knockout whereas Stamann required all 15 minutes. Yadong is 4-0 in the Octagon with three finishes and has won his last seven fights.

With Weili Zhang winning a title last weekend and giving China their first belt, Yadong is in a prime position to capitalize on the growing market in his home country. His knockout power will certainly make him popular amongst American fans as well if his success can continue.
UFC DC takes place on December 7 from the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. The card is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between Walt Harris and longtime veteran Alistair Overeem. Also on the card, Carlos Condit will make his return to the cage against Mickey Gall.
