With the event just over a month away, UFC Copenhagen has added a lightweight contest between Lando Vannata and Marc Diakiese.
The UFC is making its inaugural trip to Copenhagen, Denmark next month, and the card is still taking shape. On Friday, UFC officials announced another interesting pairing on social media, this time in the lightweight division. That match-up will see ‘Groovy’ Lando Vannata (10–3–2) take on England’s Marc Diakiese (13–3).
Another great one for #UFCCopenhagen! @Marc_Diakiese vs @GroovyLando is official!

Both fighters are coming off single wins, and looking to put together their first win streaks in some time. Vanatta has not won back-to-back fights since prior to joining the UFC in 2016. He’s 2-3-2 in the promotion so far, which is somewhat rare given how infrequently you see draws awarded. In his last outing Vanatta submitted Marcos Rosa Mariano at UFC 234.
Diakiese got back in the win column at UFC London back in March, with a unanimous decision victory against Joe Duffy. Before that much-needed win, Diakiese had dropped three straight, to Nasrat Haqparast, Dan Hooker, and Drakkar Klose.
Overall, he’s 4-3 in the UFC.
UFC Copenhagen (UFC Fight Night 160 or UFC on ESPN+ 18) takes place September 29 at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark. The main event sees Jack Hermansson and Jared Cannonier face off in a middleweight contest with possible title implications.
