Drakkar Klose started slow, but ended up taking over the fight after the halfway point, defeating Christos Giagos by unanimous decision at UFC 241.
Heading into UFC 241, a story getting a lot of attention is the bowling career of Christos Giagos. He’ll have to put it on hold against Drakkar Klose, looking to improve to 3-1 since returning to the UFC. Klose is 4-1 in the Octagon and has defeated Bobby Green and Lando Vannata most recently.
Drakkar Klose took the center of the cage and avoided a combination from Giagos. Giagos landed a body kick, which caused Klose to burst in with a combination. While throwing punches, Klose was caught by a slick left straight from Giagos. Klose pushed him against the cage and the fight stayed there temporarily before he broke away. Giagos then clinched up with Klose and landed a big knee to the body before pushing him against the fence. Giagos landed a leg kick after the fighters returned to the center of the Octagon. Klose then clinched with Giagos. Right before the round ended, Giagos landed a combination, then Klose caught him with a big shot.

A four-strike combination landed cleanly for Giagos to start the second round. Klose responded with a low leg kick, and both men swung wildly before a body kick led to a takedown for Giagos. Klose returned to the feet quickly, but Giagos still had him pushed against the cage. A clean double-leg landed for Giagos, who quickly transitioned from side control to back control. Giagos went in for the rear-naked choke, and somehow Klose was able to escape. Giagos gassed a bit, and Klose took advantage, rocking Giagos with an uppercut, then taking him down. Klose landed heavy ground-and-pound, opening Giagos up on his forehead.

Drakkar Klose came out firing in the final round, grounding Giagos with a leg kick. Giagos seemed exhausted after the choke attempt and rough end to the second round. Giagos was still dangerous, landing a hard straight punch. After a clinch exchange, Klose lifted Giagos up, paused for dramatic effect, then fell backwards to slam Giagos down. Giagos got back up and both men fired away to close out the fight.

After winning the fight, Klose called out Gregor Gillespie for UFC 244 in Madison Square Garden.
