Mike Perry and Vicentne Luque’s bloody war at UFC Uruguay stole the show Saturday, and earned both men some extra spending cash in the process.
The UFC’s first ever trip to Uruguay brought with it a women’s flyweight title fight in the main event, but it was the co-main event battle between Mike Perry and Vincente Luque that stole the show. The welterweight war was a bloody, back-and-forth affair, with Perry rocking Luque in the early going, but having to contend with a nasty cut, and a tight guillotine attempt late in the third round.

Ultimately, it was Luque getting the split decision win in a fight that really could have gone either way. The entertaining scrap earned Fight of the Night honors, the second time in three fights Luque has earned the award.
Performance of the Night bonuses at UFC Uruguay went to Volkan Oezdemir and Veronica Macedo. Oezdemir tee’d off on light heavyweight opponent Ilir Latifi, returning to form after a series of setbacks that had many questioning his place in the 205lb weight class. The fight came to a close in the second, with Oezdemir winning via knockout.
Macedo, meanwhile, opened the card against Polyana Viana, and pulled off an arm-bar submission win exactly one minute into the fight.
All four fighters will pick up an extra $50,000 U.S. for their efforts at UFC Uruguay, which had an announced attendance of 9,225.
