Bellator’s return to Temecula, California with Andrey Koreshkov vs. Lorenz Larkin in the main event now has its co-feature set. ESPN was first to report that lightweights Saad Awad and Goiti Yamauchi would serve as the co-main event for Bellator 229. The news includes word that Awad has signed a new deal with the promotion, which he has called home consistently since 2013, at Bellator 87.

Overall, Awad, a native of San Bernadino, has gone 11-8 in Bellator. He recently dropped back-to-back fights against Benson Henderson and Brandon Girtz.
