Palacios was heavily favored and on an eight-fight win streak that included an undefeated run in Combate Americas and victories in Dana White’s Contender Series and Golden Boy MMA. Gibson, whose twin brother Chase has also fought for the promotion, had an authoritative victory in surviving the early storm before going on to submit Palacios via arm-triangle in round one.
The numbers continue to highlight Combate Americas’ advantage as the premiere MMA promotion across Spanish networks in the US. The company has made major moves in 2019, including the announcement of Spanish television icon Kate del Castillo as a new owner with the company as well as the announcement of another champion set to be crowned later this year in the featherweight division.
