Two sluggers will go to battle in Canada as Geoff Neal is set to fight Niko Price at UFC 240.
The addition to UFC 240 was first reported by Farrah Hannoun of MMA Junkie, then officially announced by the promotion.
Niko Price and Geoff Neal have a total of nine wins in the Octagon combined, and eight have been stoppage victories. Pairing them together will surely bring fireworks north of the border.
Niko Price has proven himself to be one of the more consistently exciting fighters on the roster, owning a 5-2 record with three Performance of the Night bonuses. He would be 6-2, but a buzzer-beating second-round knockout against Alex Morono was overturned after Price tested positive for marijuana. All of Price’s victories have come by stoppage, and he has won three of his last four fights, with the loss being a 42-second knockout against Abdul Razak Alhassan. The 29-year-old is coming off a come-from-behind knockout against veteran Tim Means.
After going 7-2 with five stoppages, Geoff Neal was invited onto the first season of Dana White’s Contender Series. Neal won by first-round stoppage and earned a contract with the UFC. Following a rear-naked choke and head kick knockout, Neal defeated Belal Muhammad by decision in January to increase his Octagon record to 3-0.
UFC 240 takes place on July 27 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada’s Rogers Place. The card is headlined by a featherweight title fight between champion Max Holloway and former lightweight titleholder Frankie Edgar. Also on the card, Cris Cyborg takes on former Invicta FC champion Felicia Spencer.
