A middleweight matchup between Brazil’s Antonio Carlos Junior and America’s Uriah Hall is on the way to UFC Vancouver in September.
Middleweight contenders will collide on September 14 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, as BJJ wizard Antonio Carlos Junior faces UFC veteran Uriah Hall. Combate’s Raphael Marinho broke the news earlier today.
Antonio Carlos Junior (10-3-0, 1 NC) is coming off a closely contested decision loss to fellow up-and-coming middleweight contender Ian Heinisch last month at UFC Rochester. Prior to that, the Brazilian product who trains out of American Top Team had a five-fight win streak, with four of those coming by way of Rear Naked Choke submission. The 29-year-old won The Ultimate Fighter Brazil at heavyweight back in 2014. As a middleweight, Junior has gone 6-2-0, 1 NC in the UFC.
Uriah Hall (14-9) most recently knocked out previously undefeated Jackson-Wink product Bevon Lewis at UFC 232 last December. The Tiger Schulmann competitor was also a standout on The Ultimate Fighter back in 2012, where he was a finalist. Hall has faced killers inside the Octagon, dating back to his promotional debut in 2013. In the UFC, Hall has gone 7-7 and has faced Paulo Costa, Gegard Mousasi (twice), Robert Whittaker, Kelvin Gastelum and Thiago Santos. The 34-year old is looking capitalize on his recent form, as “Prime Time” is hoping his time is now going into 2019 – his seventh year in the promotion.
At this moment in time, there is only one other slated listed on the UFC Vancouver card, as heavyweights Augusto Sakai and Marcin Tybura face off in a ranked battle. An arena has yet to be announced for the card.
