Another piece falls into place for the third season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, as Steven Nguyen will face Aalon Cruz on the July 30 edition of the show.
Entering its third season, the hit show Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series is back this summer. It’s approaching soon, as contracts have been sent out and many fights have already been confirmed. Sources have now confirmed to Cageside Press that a featherweight bout between Steven Nguyen and Aalon Cruz will go down on July 30.
Fighting out of Wichita, Kansas, Nguyen has a pro record of 6-0. He made his amateur debut in 2011 and had a successful record of 9-1 also 14-1 overall with kickboxing and boxing. The 26-year-old stays at home and trains out of Saekson Janjira Muay Thai.
Nguyen has won titles as an amateur as in his latest fight as a pro he took home the Evolution Fighting Championship featherweight title. He’s fought mainly for the EFC promotion.
Standing across from Nguyen will be the 29-year-old, Aalon Cruz. Fighting out of Tampa, Florida Cruz has a record of 7-2. With only two losses, Cruz is now on a current three-fight win streak.
Cruz made an impact on his career when he beat Bellator veteran, Steve Garcia Jr. a year ago finishing him in the first. He’s fought for various promotions on the regional circuit. Cruz also trains out of his home state in Tampa, Florida DEFMMA.
