A pair of bouts have been announced for UFC Sacramento, including the return of former UFC champion Nicco Montano.

The UFC Sacramento card is beginning to take shape, with the promotion announcing a few big fights Tuesday. The two fights include the return of a former UFC Flyweight champion in Nicco Montano taking on Sara McMann, and the return of Ryan Hall, as he faces top-15 featherweight Darren Elkins.

Marcel Dorff first reported the McMann vs. Montano fight, while Farrah Hannoun broke the Hall vs. Elkins bout.

Montano (4-2) is making her first appearance since her championship-winning performance against Roxanne Modaferri in December of 2017. That win made her the inaugural UFC flyweight champion, a championship she would lose after a failed weight cut for her title defense against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 228. After that failed weight cut, she would find herself suspended due to a tainted supplement.

The former flyweight champ will be making her bantamweight debut when she takes on the Olympic silver medalist.

McMann (11-5), on the other hand, is returning to the octagon for the first time since February 2018, where she lost to Marion Reneau. After that loss, she took a hiatus due to pregnancy. She is currently on a two-fight losing streak, losing both bouts via submission.

The other fight announced is a featherweight tilt between submission ace Ryan Hall (7-1) and brawler Darren Elkins. Hall has always been the dark-horse of the division, being one of the greatest grapplers in the world. He’s currently on a seven fight winning streak, winning all three of his UFC bouts. He’s defeated Artem Lobov, Gray Maynard, and former UFC champion BJ Penn. The last bout came against Penn at UFC 232, where he became the only man to submit the former champion.

Darren Elkins (24-7) on the other hand is on a bit of a slide, having lost two fights in a row, losing to Ricardo Lamas and Alexander Volkanovski. However prior to that bout Elkins was on a six fight winning streak, defeating names such as Michael Johnson and Mirsad Bektic along the way.

UFC Sacramento (UFC Fight Night 155) takes place July 13 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA.
