ONE Championship ramped up promotion for Enter the Dragon on Tuesday, with the biggest names on the card facing off in Singapore!
On Tuesday at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Center in Singapore, ONE Championship hosted a press conference ahead of this Friday’s Enter the Dragon at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Topped by a lightweight title fight between Shinya Aoki and Christian Lee, the card also features the debut of former UFC star Sage Northcutt. Northcutt’s first outing in ONE will be closely watched after the struggles of Eddie Alvarez and Yushin Okami crossing over to the promotion lately.
Quoted in a press release Tuesday, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong said that “We’re not here to sell fights, we’re here to build heroes who ignite the world with hope, strength, dreams, and inspiration. We want to inspire the world to dream more, do more, and be more in life. I see superstar potential in everybody.”
Clearly, the promotion sees the potential in Northcutt, whose mild mannered personality gels perfectly with a promotion that frowns on trash talk. For his part, Northcutt was quoted as saying that “ONE Championship is about respect and honor and the true martial arts. That’s how I grew up. I was raised in these values.”
ONE Championship: Enter the Dragon takes place Saturday, May 17 in Kallang, Singapore. The card airs live on the ONE App, Youtube, B/R Live, and other platforms depending on your locale.
