Returning to Manila, Philippines, ONE Championship hosted two title fights, including Martin Nguyen in the main event, at Friday’s Roots of Honor.
ONE Championship’s first event in the wake of the massive A New Era in March went down Friday at the Mall of Asia arena in Manila, Philippines. At Roots of Honor, featherweight champion Martin Nguyen would put his title on the line against Narantungalag Jadambaa of Mongolia. Nguyen, once a dual-champ in ONE who had held the lightweight title, was solely focused on featherweight for the first time in ages. Would that allow him to overcome the challenger?
In a second title fight, the co-main event of Roots of Honor saw strawweight champ Yosuke Saruta rematch against the man he won the title from, the Philippine’s own Joshua Pacio.
