Invicta FC hit snowy Kansas City, Kansas to crown a new flyweight champion. And they did just that, also setting up a showdown between potential challengers.
A new queen was crowned atop Invicta FC’s flyweight division on Friday night. And while the finish was ugly, Vanessa Porto certainly earned her victory — and new place as the Invicta flyweight champion. Claiming the belt at Invicta FC 34 (which had been vacant since Jennifer Maia departed the promotion) opposite Pearl Gonzalez, Porto was strong early on until an eye poke rendered her unable to continue.
With the fight having gone far enough to go to the scorecards, she took home the decision win.
