An interesting clash of styles awaits when Angela Hill takes on Randa Markos at UFC Nashville later this year.
While the UFC was busy kicking off a new era on ESPN with UFC Brooklyn, a bit more info on UFC Nashville came to light on Saturday. First reported by Flo Combat’s Nolan King, it appears the March card in Tennessee will feature a strawweight clash between former Invicta FC strawweight champion Angela Hill, and Canada’s own Randa Markos.
Hill later confirmed the news via social media. The UFC has not officially announced the fight.
For Hill (8-5), the fight will be her first bout back since an August loss against Cortney Casey. The former Ultimate Fighter 20 cast member has been trading wins and losses since her return to the UFC, following a successful stint in Invicta. Wins against Ashley Yoder and Maryna Moroz have been offset by losses to Jessica Andrade, Nina Ansaroff, and Casey. Still, Hill remains an entertaining fighter, and a danger to any woman in the strawweight division.
Randa Markos (8-6-1), for her part, had traded wins and losses her entire UFC career until a draw against Marina Rodriguez at UFC Sao Paulo last September. Prior to that, she had suffered a loss against Ansaroff at UFC Calgary.
UFC Nashville, numerically UFC Fight Night 148, will mark the sixth outing on ESPN+ for the promotion. The main event is set to feature Stephen Thompson against Anthony Pettis, who is moving up to welterweight for the bout. It all goes down March 23 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN.
