Former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt will return to action at UFC 235 in March, taking on Pedro Munhoz.
In addition to news of two title fights atop the UFC 235 card, former bantamweight champ Cody Garbrandt has now joined the party. Garbrandt will face Pedro Munhoz at the event, in a fight first reported by ESPN. The ex-champ later confirmed the news himself on social media. The bout is one of several high-profile contests on the show, including Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith, and Tyron Woodley vs. Kamaru Usman.

Garbrandt (11–2) has not fought since losing a rematch against T.J. Dillashaw at UFC 227 last August. That loss was his second straight against bitter rival Dillashaw, who will himself attempt to claim a second UFC title when he faces Henry Cejudo at flyweight in a week’s time at UFC Brooklyn. Garbrandt, meanwhile, hopes to get back on track against Munhoz (17–3, 1NC). Prior to the Dillashaw losses, Garbrandt had been undefeated.
Munhoz, meanwhile, is on a two fight win streak, with victories over Brett Johns and Bryan Caraway. ‘The Young Punisher’ is 6-1 in his past seven, with the lone loss coming against Jon Dodson at UFC 222.
UFC 235 takes place March 2, 2019 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
