Canada’s Misha Cirkunov will look to make it two in a row when he takes on Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 235 this March.

The light heavyweight division looks to have lots going on in March this year. On Thursday, UFC officials announced that Canada’s Misha Cirkunov would face former interim light heavyweight title challenger Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 235, which takes place in early March. That comes on the heels of word getting out that Volkan Oezdemir, another former title challenger, would face the undefeated Dominick Reyes at UFC London mid-March.

Cirkunov (14-4) snapped a two-fight losing skid at UFC Monton in October, submitting Patrick Cummins within a round. Prior to that, he’d dropped fights to Oezdemir and Glover Teixeira. Overall, however, Cirkunov is 5-2 in the UFC, and started his run in the promotion with four straight wins.

The Canadian, who has been training in Las Vegas of late, will look to start 2019 strong when he faces ‘OSP.’ Saint Preux (23-12), who faced Jon Jones for an interim light heavyweight title in 2016 at UFC 197, has been trading wins and losses lately. Most recently, he lost a unanimous decision against Dominick Reyes at UFC 229. Prior to that, he had picked up a win over Tyson Pedro at UFC Singapore.

UFC 235 takes place March 2 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. No main event has been announced for the card, but there’s a good chance Daniel Cormier will feature. Cormier previously set a self-imposed retirement date coinciding with his 40th birthday, which comes in March. While those retirement plans may wind up postponed, there’s still a strong chance fans could see D.C. at the event.
