UFC 231 went down Saturday night in Toronto, Ontario, with two title fights topping the card: Max Holloway vs. Brian Ortega, and Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Valentina Shevchenko.
It had been two years since the UFC touched down in Toron, Ontario. Two years since Max Holloway captured the interim featherweight championship against Anthony Pettis at UFC 206, a sleeper of a card that turned out to be one of the most exciting events of that year. On Saturday night, the promotion returned to the Canadian metropolis with UFC 231.
With two title fights topping UFC 231 in Toronto, it was a big night for the UFC. A big night for the featherweight division, boasting one of the most anticipated title fights in its history (top three, quite possibly, alongside Aldo vs. McGregor, and Aldo vs. Holloway). And then there was the women’s flyweight title challenge between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and and former bantamweight challenger Valentina Shevchenko.
When the dust settled in Toronto, at least one new champion would emerge.
Following the bout, you can watch the UFC 231 post-fight press conference live in the video stream above. The presser is expected to kick off at approximately 1:15AM EST, with the main event players in attendance, health-permitting.
