The UFC is heading to Prague, Czech Republic for the first time as the promotion continues to grow its European presence.
The UFC is continuing to expand its global footprint, and multiple reports now point to the Czech Republic being its newest destination. First reported by Svetmma.sk and later the Czech Republic’s own Fight Club News, the UFC is targeting it’s third show on ESPN+ for Prague next February. The show was announced previously, along with the rest of the UFC’s Q1 2019 dates, but no location was unveiled at that time. Numerically, the event will be UFC Fight Night 145.
If the location sticks, it will be the UFC’s first trip to the European nation. It will also be the eleventh European country to host a UFC event, including Russia, which hosted its first card earlier this year. While no official announcement has been made, it appears the organization will head to the O2 Arena for the show.
While the headliner remains a mystery, reports also indicate that Czech fighter Lucie Pudilova is expected to take part in the event. With Viktor Pesta released in 2017 following a 1-4 run in the UFC, Pudilova (8-3) is the highest profile Czech fighter on the UFC roster currently.
UFC on ESPN+ 3 (UFC Fight Night 145) is slated for February 23, 2019.
