KSW 46 will see the return of former welterweight champion Borys Mankowski, the Polish MMA outfit announced on Monday.
Borys Mankowski (19-7-1) will return to KSW next month, the promotion revealed Monday. In a press release, KSW officials announced that Mankowski would take on Brazilian Bruce Souto (12-3) at KSW 46. The card takes place on December 1 in Gliwice, Poland. Mankowski is best known as KSW’s former welterweight champion, reigning over the weight class across three title defenses.
After capturing the 170lb title at KSW 27 against Aslambek Saidov, Mankowski would defend the belt against John Maguire, Jesse Taylor, and David Zawada. Two of those three defenses came with first round finishes. ‘The Tasmanian Devil’ later lost a super-fight against middleweight champion Mamed Khalidov at KSW 49, before losing his welterweight crown to Roberto Soldic at KSW 41 last December.
KSW 46 will mark the former championship’s return to action. In Gliwice, he’ll face Bruce Souto, a Jungle Fights, M-1, and ACB veteran. Souto has won his last six fights, dating back to 2015.
