Henry Corrales has quickly become a name to watch in Bellator’s featherweight division, and that trend continued at Bellator 208 on Saturday.
Featherweight action kicked off the Bellator 208 main card on Saturday night in Long Island. There, at the Nassau Coliseum, Henry Corrales took on Andy Main, looking to make it four wins in a row. Main, meanwhile, an Ultimate Fighter veteran who last appeared in LFA, was hoping to string together back-to-back wins for his part.
The pair got underway with a brief exchange, and traded kicks, with both fighters landing. Corrales circled on the outside much of the first two minutes, while Main walked him down, leading with his jab. Main certainly had an edge in reach and used it well, forcing Corrales to look for ways to close the distance — a difficult task while he was on his heels, but when he did move in, he connected. As the round progressed, Corrales began to open up, landing some heavy blows and taking control of the round. Right before the final bell, however, he was tagged as well, as both men swung away.

Round two saw the stand-up battle continue, as neither man seemed at all interested in a takedown. Corrales managed to slip in some inside leg kicks on the lanky Main. The action slowed a little in the second frame, but if there was one takeaway, it was that Corrales was now pressing forward far more than in the first round, while Andy Main was beginning to show some damage.
Round three brought with it a brief firefight and a finish to the action. Corrales fired a right that missed, but followed up with a left that caught Main on the side of the chin. Main crumpled, and it was as good as done.
With the win, Henry Corrales improved to 16-3, and now has four straight wins. Given those include victories over former WSOF champ Georgi Karakhanyan as well as Noad Lahat, Corrales has become a real threat at 145lbs.
