With Fedor Emelianenko and Chael Sonnen battling in the main event at Bellator 208, missing weight was never a risk for the headliner. Here are the results from the weigh-ins for tomorrow night’s fight card.
A weekend jam-packed with fights closes out with Bellator 208, featuring a World Heavyweight Grand Prix Semi-Final between Fedor Emelianenko and Chael Sonnen. While there was an odd happening in a prelim bout where both fighters in a bout missed weight, the weigh-ins largely went off without a hitch.
The winner of the main event bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Chael Sonnen will go on to fight the winner of tonight’s Bellator 207 headliner between Matt Mitrione and Ryan Bader. The heavyweight tournament final will take place on January 29.
Benson Henderson used nearly the entirety of the window, weighing in with six minutes to spare. The main card fighters all made weight for their respective bouts, while three preliminary fighters missed weight. Chael Sonnen was the first fighter to weigh in, coming in at 227-pounds, giving Fedor Emelianenko a nine-pound advantage heading into the bout.
