Pearl Gonzalez once again stole the show at Friday’s weigh-ins for Invicta FC 31, while the main event strawweight title fight is a go!
Invicta FC 31 goes down tomorrow night at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, MO. With a strawweight title showdown in the main event, and the return of the popular Pearl Gonzalez, the card looks to be a good one. Topping the show, strawweight champion Virna Jandiroba (13-0) is set to defend her title for the first time, taking on another Brazilian standout, Janaisa Morandin.
Then, in the co-main event, Pearl Gonzalez looks to continue her success since parting ways with the UFC, as she has gone 2-0 since joining the Invicta FC ranks.
Also on the card, a couple of promising talents looking to bounce back from losses. Flyweight Miranda Maverick suffered her first career defeat last time out, and takes on Victoria Leonardo tomorrow in Kansas City. Kay Hansen, meanwhile, also suffered her first career loss in her most recent outing, and will face Helen Peralta.
All fighters on the card made weight save one: Mallory Martin missed the strawweight limit by a pound (117, keeping in mind the non-title fight limit of 116lbs for strawweight contests).
Cageside Press will be on hand to cover the action in Kansas City; be sure to check back for further coverage!
