Combate Americas has announced a bevy of new bouts for their upcoming card: Marroquin vs Alday on September 14, 2018.
Combate Americas has announced several new bouts for their event on September 14. Before Levy Marroquin takes on José Alday for the inaugural bantamweight championship, there will be several veterans taking on promotional newcomers in Phoenix, AZ.
The co-main event for the card will feature Tracy Cortez (3-1), who will face off against Karen Cedillo (1-0). Both women will be making their promotional debut. Cedillo replaces Brandi Narvaez who fell out of the bout with Cortez due to injury.
Also announced is a lightweight bout between the undefeated Rafa “Gifted” Garcia (6-0) and LaRue “The Cannibal” Burley (8-3). Training with UFC veteran Cub Swanson, Garcia is seeking his fourth win in the Combate Americas cage after picking up a decision victory in April on the promotion’s debut on Univision. Burley makes his promotional debut after having fought previously in both LFA, Bellator, and WSOF.
In preliminary action, undefeated fighters will collide as Tino Gilaranz (1-0) takes on Austin Wourms (1-0). Returning bantamweight veteran Roman “El Gallito” Salazar (12-7) comes back to Combate Americas after more than a year to face Eduardo “El Pube” Alvarado (3-4).
In a pair of featherweight contests, Javier “Blair” Reyes Rugeles (7-1) takes on “Magic” Mike Hamel (5-2) and Yaotzin Meza (21-11) will collide with Gilbert Aguilar (17-18-1).
In flyweight action, the undefeated Richard Palencia (6-0) will face Federico “The Argentinian Ninja” Oliveira (3-4).
More preliminary bouts will be announced soon.
The card will be headlined by the bantamweight championship bout between Levy Saul Marroquin (11-2) and José “Pochito” Alday (11-3-1). The event will be simulcast live on Univision and Univision Deportes on September 14 at 10ET/7PT.
