ONE Championship is set to return to Indonesia later this year, and when it does, ONE strawweight champ Yoshitaka Naito will defend his title in a rematch against Joshua Pacio.
ONE Championship has its return to Indonesia set, as it will host Conquest of Heroes in the nation on September 22. At the top of the card will be men’s strawweight champion Yoshitaka Naito, taking on Joshua Pacio for the second time. The pair first met in 2016, where ‘Nobita’ won by submission in the second round. The promotion announced the news on Thursday.
Since that fight, Naito (13-1), a former Shooto champion, split a pair of fights with Alex Silva. In the most recent, he picked up ONE’s strawweight title via a split decision, winning the belt for the second time. While a rubber match with Silva no doubt awaits at some point, for now, it’s Pacio who will challenge for the title.
Joshua Pacio (12-2) has won three straight, and four of his last five since losing to Yoshitaka Naito for the first time.
