Virna Jandiroba’s first strawweight title defense is set, as she will return at Invicta FC 31.
Invicta FC’s next show has its date and main event set. In a press release issued on Thursday, the all-female fighting promotion unveiled that Invicta FC 31 would be headlined by strawweight champion Virna Jandiroba defending her 115lb title for the first time, against Janaisa Morandin. The card will take place in the promotion’s home base at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, MO on September 1.
Jandiroba (13-0) is perfect in her professional career to date, and captured the Invicta FC strawweight title in her last outing, against Mizuki Inoue. Prior to that, she had gotten the better of Amy Montenegro in her promotional debut.
Janaisa Morandin (10-1), meanwhile, debuted in Invicta with a “Fight of the Night” effort against former champion Livia Renata Souza. While she came up short, she continued to impress by bouncing back against Kinberly Novaes in December at Invicta FC 26. Adding to the intrigue, this will be an all-Brazilian affair.
Also added to the Invicta FC 31 card next month:
Pearl Gonzalez vs. Daiane “Dai Fox” Firmino (10-2) at flyweight (co-main event)
Raquel “Lionheart” Pa’aluhi (6-6) vs. Shanna “The Shanimal” Young (4-0) at bantamweight
Mallory Martin (3-2) vs. Ashley Nichols (3-2) at strawweight
Kelly D’Angelo (2-2) vs. Lindsey “Damsel” VanZandt (3-3) at atomweight
Helen “Iansã” Peralta (2-0) vs. Kay Hansen (2-1) at strawweight
Audrey Drew (1-0) vs. Holli “The Huntress” Salazar (1-0) at featherweight
