UFC lightweight Jim Miller will hit a major milestone this fall when he steps into the octagon for the 30th time at UFC 228.
Jim Miller will return to the octagon at UFC 228 in September, and when he does, it will be quite the milestone. Miller, who announced yesterday that he had signed a new bout agreement, will be making his 30th appearance for the UFC. He’ll face Alex White at the event. The promotion added the fight to the official card on Tuesday.
Anyone else in an intimate relationship with a lacrosse ball? Love this thing. Oh, good news, signed my bout agreement for number 30. Official announcement coming soon. #ufc #mma… https://t.co/uBxvmcZRY8

Miller’s most recent outing at UFC Atlantic City in April did not go as hoped. Suffering his fourth straight loss, in this case to Dan Hooker, Miller (28–12 (1)) was KO’d by a heavy knee within the first round. Prior to that, he’d dropped bouts to Dustin Poirier, Anthony Pettis, and Francisco Trinaldo. That painful stretch put an end to the three fight win streak Miller had compiled in 2016.
Alex White (12–4), meanwhile, has been trading wins and losses of late. At 3-4 in his UFC career, in his past four fights, he holds wins over Artem Lobov and Mitch Clarke, while losing to Tony Martin and James Krause. The Krause loss was his most recent, at UFC St. Louis earlier this year.
UFC 228 takes place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX on September 8. A main event welterweight championship bout between Tyron Woodley and Darren Till was recently announced for the card.
